Should I ask her out? Does she like me?

Im 13 and there is this girl at school that I really like. Everybody says we should go out. We talk each day and text each other a lot. Most of the time when she sees me she says 'hi' and smiles at me. We are good friends and I don't want it to be awkward between us if she says no. She text her ex the other day saying that i was pretty cool. She says to others that she doesn't like me when they ask her. It's not asking her out thats the problem, it just that i wanted to know is she likes me? what do you think?
