Is getting this phone a good idea?

So my parents are letting me get a new phone but it cannot have a data package. Everybody says the KIN by Microsoft is dead.. but it doesn't require a data package.. has a video camera and camera.... and has a nice user interface... My question is. Is it the best feature phone available on Verizon?
