How can I get out of my current lease?

I signed a lease which ends December 31, 2011. My wife is now pregnant and due the last week of November. Our one bedroom apartment (in California) is barely big enough for us and I can't imagine how it will be with a baby. The manager won't let us out of the lease and there isn't anything wrong with the apartment, is there any way out out of this lease? I would like to be setup in a new apartment before she has the baby, it's stressing us both out.
